Institute of Engineering Systems

  The Engineering system group in the Department of Industrial Engineering of Tsinghua University endeavors to improve understanding about the nature of operations in engineering systems, such as, production systems, service systems (logistics, healthcare, etc), and develop methods and techniques to improve efficiency, quality and cost of manufacturing and service, since these factors directly affect the quality of life of people in China as well as in the world.

Mission

The mission of the engineering system group in the Department of Industrial Engineering of Tsinghua University is to:
 Provide a systematic education program of engineering systems comprising of fundamental principles, methodologies and techniques, in-lab experiments and practices in real engineering systems;
 Elaborate and advance the science of engineering systems;
 Contribute to improvement of the efficiency, quality and cost of manufacturing and service system, with the aim of promoting a better quality of life.

The engineering system group in the Department of Industrial Engineering of Tsinghua University consists of 2 full professors, 7 associate professors, 4 assistant professor, 1 senior engineer, and 23 Ph.D. candidates. The following areas are explored in the group:
