【Speaker】Dr. Tom Van Woensel, Professor of Freight Transport and Logistics, School of Industrial Engineering, Eindhoven University of Techonolgy, The Netherlands

【Abstract】
An important challenge for Urban Transportation is the question how to improve the quality (e.g., carbon footprint) and quantity (e.g., number of movements) of the urban distribution activities by better orchestration of the different physical flows. The focus of this presentation is collaboration in Urban Transportation environments. Specifically, we look into collaboration in distribution and coordination between Logistics Service Providers (LSP's) and between LSP’s and retailers. The increase of collaboration has the potential to lead to innovative distribution concepts, while meeting objectives and restrictions set by municipalities.
