On June 3, 2016, Tsinghua University (THU) Professional Postgraduates Manufacture and Logistic Top-grade Course and Tsinghua Manufacture and Logistic Summit was co-held by Master of Engineering and Management (MEM) Education Center of Tsinghua University and Economic Information Daily of Xinhua News Agency at Luomu Building of Tsinghua University.

Prof. Wei Zhang, the Vice-dean of Graduate School of THU, and Yuejin Du, editor in chief of Economic Information Daily of Xinhua News Agency, respectively made a welcome speech and introduced the course series and the summit. On the first half of the summit, Gree Group’s chairwoman Mingzhu Dong was invited to give a keynote speech, in which she analyzed the present state and trend of the manufacturing industry and introduced Gree Group’s strategic transformation and operation decision-making under the “new normal” economy by taking Gree’s several innovative products as example. On the second half, a dialogue on the subject of which direction that China’s manufacturing industry should take in a globally competitive world was made between the executive director of Tsinghua MEM Education Center Dacheng Liu, vice-dean of Institution for Global Industry, Tsinghua University, Hengyuan Zhu and Mingzhu Dong. The audience benefited greatly from their debate and discussion on issues of tendencies of the global competition, way out for China’s manufacturing industry and Gree’s development strategy.

Summit dialogue

The series of the Courses was initiated by Vice-president of Tsinghua University Bin Yang and established by Tsinghua MEM Education Center, which would invite excellent entrepreneurs in the fields of manufacturing and logistics to make speeches and dialogues with Tsinghua professors, so as to promote the high-quality and lifetime education of the professional degree postgraduate.
