【Abstract】Lattice programming plays an important role in establishing monotone comparative statics in parametric optimization problems. To apply it in Markovian decision processes, it is common to establish certain preservation properties of supermodularity under dynamic programming recursions, which often requires lattice conditions of the feasible sets. In this talk, we introduce new preservation properties of supermodularity and its variants in a class of two dimensional parametric optimization problems, where the constraint set may not be a lattice. These properties include several existing results in the literature as special cases, and provide powerful tools as we illustrate their applications to a variety of operations models.
