Brief Introduction

Doctoral education at the department focuses on cultivating academic-oriented innovative talents and advancing scientific research. The curriculum emphasizes theoretical depth and broad disciplinary coverage, aiming to build a solid foundation for academic inquiry. Particular importance is placed on strengthening innovative thinking, research capabilities, and the ability to conduct independent scientific investigations. Students are encouraged to participate in international joint training and exchange programs to broaden their global perspectives. The Department of Industrial Engineering provides a vibrant academic environment and comprehensive support for doctoral students.

Program Objectives

The program aims to cultivate high-level, highly competent, and innovative talents with interdisciplinary knowledge spanning industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, control science and engineering, management science and engineering, statistics, and artificial intelligence. Graduates are expected to pursue teaching and research positions in leading universities and research institutes, or engage in R&D roles in industrial enterprises.

Program Features

Highly flexible curriculum structure. Students are granted greater autonomy in course selection and the design of their training pathways, fostering individualized development.

High-level international training system. Leveraging the university’s extensive short- and long-term international exchange programs, as well as the department’s established international degree program resources, students demonstrate outstanding performance in international joint training and high-level short-term visits, with significantly enhanced global competencies.

A variety of doctoral scholarships, fellowships, and teaching/research/administrative assistantships are available to effectively reduce students’ financial burden and allow them to focus on academic research. Program Duration

The standard duration of study is 3–4 years, with a maximum allowable period of 6 years.

Language of Instruction

Bilingual course. Chinese proficiency requirements are as follows (meeting one of the following is sufficient):

Achieve a score of 180 or above on HSK Level 4.

Applicants who completed their undergraduate or master’s studies in Chinese must provide an official certificate from their degree-granting institution. Upon approval, they may be exempt from submitting HSK scores.

Exceptional candidates may be exempt from the Chinese proficiency requirement after comprehensive evaluation.

Tuition Fee

RMB 40,000 per year.

Scholarship Recommendations

Applicants with outstanding performance in the comprehensive evaluation may be recommended for one of the following scholarships:

Chinese Government Scholarship – HSK Level 4 required.

Beijing Government Scholarship – HSK Level 4 required.
