The Immersion Class for the International 2024 batch from the Department of Industrial Engineering successfully concluded on June 18 with group report presentations, marking the end of a multi-week learning journey through China’s dynamic industries. During the immersion class, international students explored China’s leading sectors firsthand across Beijing and Tianjin. Guided by Professor Linning Cai and visiting professors Kaiwei Li and Ming Li, the students visited seven prominent companies and institutions—including Xiaomi, Tiankai Higher Education Innovation Park, Hualai, China Tower, Volkswagen, the Port of Tianjin, and SMC—gaining valuable insights into smart manufacturing, telecommunications, logistics, automotive systems, and sustainable technologies. Each visit provided a unique opportunity to observe how China’s industries drive innovation and efficiency through digital transformation and sustainability.
