[Abstract] Even though good quality and robust reliability is the first impression of “Made in Germany”, the German industry has paid also no less effort on cost reduction. New methods and tools have always been introduced to the companies in order to forge the completive advantages. Among all the methods and tools, MTM was and is always a constantly used and strengthened one, which reduces the cost, and improves quality and ergonomics as well. MTM is far more than a method of PTS, but a set of tools through the product development process, and a global standard for work measurement and design.

This talk will give a brief introduction of the MTM development history, the functions of MTM, and some practical application examples.

[Bio] Mr. Jiang, Wei graduated from RWTH Aachen and Tsinghua University in 2012, with dual master degree of production engineering from RWTH Aachen and management science and engineering from Tsinghua. From 2012 to 2017, Mr. Jiang worked by Germany MTM Consulting Company for 5 years. During his stay in Germany, Mr. Jiang participated in various MTM related projects in different industrial branches, reference customers are such as: Airbus, Daimler, PAG, Schaeffler, Bosch, Vaillant, etc.

Mr. Jiang gained a wealth of experience in various application scenarios of MTM, such as Productivity Management, Production Planning, Efficiency Optimization, Ergonomics Evaluation and Improvement. Since 2018, Mr. Jiang joined MTM Shanghai, as project manager and MTM instructor.
