【Title】Future Direction of Industrial Engineering – Where to Go From Here

【Abstract】In this presentation, I will review the current status of Industrial Engineering Programs in the United States and discuss  the future direction of industrial engineering based on the growth changes in employment sector. In particular, I will review the research opportunities in the Service Sector as we are in the stage of transition from manufacturing to service.I will also review some of the unique  characteristics of Chinese employment sector and see where the most growth might

occur in terms of industrial engineering applications. 

【About the Speaker 】Professor Chan S. Park is currently visiting the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University. He is the Daniel and Josephine Breeden Professor of Industrial Engineering at Auburn University. His teaching and research interests are in the area of engineering economic decisions and financial engineering and published several  textbooks on the subject matter. He received his PhD degree from Georgia Institute of Technology.
