报告摘要:  

Spatial image classifiers which incorporate contextual information to classify each pixel in the image have been used widely in image texture analysis. In this talk, we analyze and compare some of the simple spatial image classifiers to explore their strengths and weaknesses in the classification of different types of textures. Texture spectrum, uniform local binary pattern (ULBP) and combination of ULBP and color features for image texture segmentation will be compared. Gray level Co-occurrence Probabilities (GLCPs) are used as a benchmark for the evaluation. Experimental results will be provided.

Chih-Cheng Hung is a Professor in the School of Computing and Software Engineering at Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU), Marietta, Georgia, USA and is in charge of the Digital Image Processing and Intelligent Computing laboratory at SPSU.  He earned his B.S. in applied mathematics from Soochow University, and M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama, USA.  Currently, he is a co-PI for a project with scientists from The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) and the Marshall Space Flight Center, NASA in Huntsville working in Global Auroral images taken by an Ultraviolet Imager (UVI).  He has been serving as Artificial Intelligence, Computational Logic and Image Analysis Track Chair for the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing (SAC) since 1999.
