We are inspired by national strategic needs from critical industries such as aviation, aerospace, shipbuilding, transportation, and electronic communications. With research efforts in fundamental theories, modeling methods and analysis techniques of complex systems engineering, we provide inter-disciplinary methods for ensuring successful implementation of complex systems within whole life cycle scope. Our mission is to promote the development of complex systems engineering discipline, undertake national scientific projects, improve the international academic influence of China in systems engineering field, advocate industrial application and practice of systems engineering, enable the rapid development of systems of systems engineering and enhance national innovation of critical equipment.

Research directions: Enterprise Architecture (EA), Complex Systems Engineering (CSE), System of Systems Engineering (SoSE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodology, techniques, tools and related application research.
