On the morning of May 29th, the Institute for Quality and Reliability was founded at Tsinghua University. The founding ceremony was held in the main building of the university. Mr. Kuangdi Xu, vice president of the Tenth National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Mr. Shuping Zhi, Director of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) of the PRC, and Mr. Jining Chen, President of Tsinghua University, attended the ceremony. Prof.. Yong Qiu, vice president of Tsinghua University and Mr. Gang Chen, the vice director of the AQSIQ, signed the agreement of co-support to the Institute for Quality and Reliability.  Prof. Yankang Zheng, Former Vice president of the university also attended the ceremony.

Cooperation Agreement signed between General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and Tsinghua University

　　After the ceremony, in the afternoon, an academic seminar was held and led by the Department Head, Prof. Li Zheng. Representatives from various institutions and industries attended the seminar. The institutions included domestic and international universities, research institutes, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Railway Administration. The industrial participants came from nuclear power, high-speed railway, aviation, airspace, and other sectors.
