[Title] Price Optimization under a N-Pack Purchasing Model
 
[Abstract] Customers often purchase multiple and usually differentiated items in the same product category in a single store visit and consume the items until the next store visit. We capture this multi-item purchasing behavior by a n-pack choice model and study the associated price optimization problem. Under such a model, each customer would either purchase n items from the offered assortment of products for staggered consumption or leave with no purchase. The retailer aims at maximizing his total revenue by setting the right price for each product for the n-pack customers. We study the structural properties of the optimal prices under different pricing schemes and develop efficient algorithms for price optimization.

[Short Bio] Guang Li is an assistant professor of Management Science in Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. She received her Ph.D. from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California (2016), M.Eng. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, M.Sc. from National University of Singapore, and B.Eng. from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Guang’s research interests include customer choice modeling, assortment planning, revenue management and interfaces between operations management and marketing, accounting and finance. Her work has been published in Operations Research, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management and Operations Research Letters.
