报告题目:Game Theory and Homeland Security Resource Allocation

报告摘要:

Hundreds of billions of U.S. dollars have been allocated to homeland security since 9/11/2001. How to optimally allocate these resources remains a challenging issue, especially considering the fact that adversaries are intelligent and adaptive. We will present an application of game theory to identify equilibrium strategies for resource allocation to counter both terrorism and natural disasters. We will also briefly discuss models of secrecy and deception, games between defenders, and the relationship of that work to supply chain management.

报告人简历:

Jun Zhuang is an Assistant Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. He has been a faculty member at SUNY Buffalo since he obtained his Ph.D. in summer 2008 from University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Zhuang is currently supervising three Ph.D. students and two M.S. students.Dr. Zhuang's current research interests include Operations Research, Decision and Risk Analysis, Stochastic Dynamic Programming, Game Theory, and their applications on Homeland Security, Computer Network Security, Transportation, and Supply Chain Management. Dr. Zhuang has coauthored six refereed journal articles (including one in Operations Research) and two book chapters in the fields of decision science and applied economics. Dr. Zhuang's research has been supported by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through the Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events (CREATE) and the Center for Human Performance and Risk Analysis (CHPRA).
